Celtic announced on Thursday they will be heading back to Dubai for the fourth year running during the SPFL winter shutdown after previously going there with former boss Brendan Rodgers.

The now Leicester boss used the winter sunshine to rejuvenate his squad after a hectic schedule that starts in August and only ends in the final days of December.

It gets the players off the grid in many ways and refocuses them.

Considering the club have gone on to win three consecutive trebles off the back of the Dubai training camp, Neil Lennon was absolutely correct to keep the tradition going.

The Celtic boss could have changed just for the sake of it but he recognised the positive impact this can have with coaches likely vouching for its success. The manager likely taking the opinions of John Kennedy and Stevie Woods on board.

It does mean if Celtic do business in January it will be done in Glasgow with any recruits heading over to join the team.

Oli Burke and Timo Weah were two notable signings during the Dubai trip in 2019.
