Kilmarnock emerged as Celtic’s closest challengers midweek when they downed Steven Gerrard’s side. Steve Clarke’s side now sits just one point behind the champions. Who seen that coming?

Kilmarnock will face off against joint third today at Pittodrie in the shape of a resurgent Aberdeen at 3 pm. Meanwhile, Rodgers new-look attack will square up to Hamilton at Paradise at 3 pm. It has been one step forward, one step back with Celtic’s league position this season. The Bhoys usually have a cushion at this time of the year and now is the time to create a space with themselves and what has become a pack.

If Aberdeen manages a win at home and Celtic take care of business it will see a three-point gap emerge in the league table. Celtic will still have a game in hand. The pressure will go back on the pack to keep up.

Celtic look to have a new lease of energy in front of goal and if that continues today Celtic will take care of their business. All the pre and post-match reaction will follow soon.
