CELTIC are on the lookout for a first team recruitment analyst after the job listing appeared on trainingground.guru.

The one-year fixed position put up by the club is asking for someone with a lot of experience in the field and who is familiar with all the major stat companies like Stats Bomb and WyScout.

The club are pressing ahead with restructuring and they’re looking to fill this role to facilitate the very best recruitment possible for the new manager.

Here are some of the responsibilities involved in the job:

  • To video scout players in global markets.
  • To identify players via data analytics.
  • To create video playlists and documents on potential targets for key stakeholders.
  • To present on potential targets to key stakeholders.
  • To collaborate with regional Scouts to process players.
  • To contribute to the Club making critical recruitment related decisions.
  • To be innovative with project ideas and accept responsibility to execute and manage these projects, providing senior members of staff with updates on findings.
  • To cross reference data analysis and subjective observations to assist with recommendations.

  • To communicate and collaborate with the Head of Scouting Operations on a spectrum of topics that are scouting / recruitment related.
  • To attend games for live scouting.
  • To assist the loans department with ad hoc tasks
  • To undertake other duties as required by their Line Manager

Ange Postecoglou spoke to CeltsAreHere.com a few weeks ago about trying to gain an edge any way they can when it comes to getting the very best.

Celtic already use data analysts but perhaps they are looking to expand and go further at this point.

Stats play a huge part in the modern game and it can be very effective in identifying not just if someone is a good player but if someone can fit well into the system the team currently plays.

The job opening will close at the end of the month before going to interview. If you’re an experienced scout, this could be the job for you.

Dominic McKay is looking to shake up a number of departments in the coming weeks and months. The word the new CEO keeps using is ‘modernise’. It suggests he believes this club have not been moving with the times fast enough.
