Ange Postecoglou is leaving no stone unturned as he prepares his Celtic team for the Viaplay Cup final and has his side practicing penalties.

Both sides have been in fine form after the World Cup and it could be possible that the final goes all the way which Postecoglou has made sure his team are prepared for.

Celtic supporters will hope that their men get the business done in 90 minutes but there is always that possible chance so it’s better to be prepared.

For the players on the park it’s important that there is no surprise elements to the final and that there focus remains on winning the game.

The first piece of silverware of the season is always important and the squad have talked up how much a boost it was to win the League Cup as Postecoglou’s first trophy. Celtic last faced Rangers in a League Cup final back in December 2019 and although the Hoops walked away with the silverware the performance on the day was poor.

When asked about the possibility of penalties and whether players have been practicing he replied in his usual tongue in cheek way.

“No I don’t mate but the players do,” said Postecoglou as quoted by the [Daily Record].

“Yeah, you prepare for everything.”

Midfielders Aaron Mooy and Reo Hatate have been the main influences from the spot this season but the Hoops know they will need a few others to step up if needed.
