We reported earlier today about the possibility of Robert Gumny joining Celtic after reports in Poland linked the player with a move to the Scottish Champions.
Since then, the story has moved quickly with the print edition of the DailyMail claiming Celtic are preparing a £6m bid for the 21-year-old right-back.
This is a player who has been on Celtic fans radar for some time and a target of interest last season when it looked like Lustig and Toljan would be both leaving the club.
Gumny fits the profile of your typical Celtic signing. Young, fast and bags of potential if he is developed in the right way. If Celtic manage to land the player for around £6m it would be a sound investment.
RecordSport confirms Brendan Rodgers and the scouting team at Celtic had their eye on Gumny before he left the club for Leicester. Is the residual interest in the player going to pay off?
The sooner he changes that strip the better.
