The official Copenhagen website has confirmed the game on Thursday night against Celtic is a sell out!

The Parken holds 36000 supporters and there won’t be an empty seat in the house as the home side look to cause an upset against Celtic on the night.

This is the first sell out in the Europa League for Copenhagen this season. Even a Scandinavian Derby against Malmo which is just 40 minutes away by bridge wasn’t enough to pack the whole stadium out. WorldFootball.net confirm Copenhagen’s average attendance over the three group home games was a little over 24k. Celtic are still a big draw and this competition can still get bums on seats with the Celtic Park tie being sold out too.

The Bhoys were seeded for the draw against Copenhagen having one their Europa League group very well. Their only defeat so far when the pressure was off against Cluj and Neil Lennon fielded a very inexperienced side.

Celtic will be hoping to silence the Parken stadium on Thursday and give the travelling support something to sing about. Not that they need an excuse.

  1. Michael – we WON the group – not ONE it.
Tighten up please and proof read before you release the article.
I am assuming this was a mistake and you do know the difference between ONE and WON.
