CELTIC appear to have pulled out of a deal to send defender, Jack Hendry out on loan for the rest of the season due to circumstances outwith their control.

Over the last week, Celtic lost Filip Benkovic to injury with the player being out until at least March, while there’s no end in sight for Boyata’s current injury. This has left Celtic down to the bare bones with Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simunovic having to take over as Celtic’s two centre-backs.

Given Jozo’s history with injury, there was no way Celtic could send Jack out on loan and leave the club with even fewer options than they already have. There was talk of Celtic looking for a centre back late in the January transfer window, however, a deal failed to materialise and will have been a contributing factor to Hendry staying where he is.

Brendan Rodgers spoke a couple of weeks back the player was likely to head out on loan to get some experience but now Hendry must be content with a place on the bench for now.

Sky Sports has mentioned Filip’s injury seems to be the overwhelming factor.
