CELTIC have reportedly pulled the plug on Danny Simpson coming in to speak to the club it has emerged.

The Englishman and Premier League winner was supposed to be joining up with the Celtic squad this week so Neil Lennon could run the rule over the defender but according to SunSport that plan has now been scrapped.

A lot of Celtic fans voiced their concerns at the potential transfer due to Simpson’s charge of domestic abuse against his former girlfriend. Many fans believed the player shouldn’t have been put in a position to be a role model to young fans as a result.

It looks like there will be no need to voice their displeasure anymore with the report claiming the arrival Hatam Abd Elhamed has made a move for Simpson less appealing.

Hatem can play at centre back and right back but at this point with Celtic in dire need of a right back, the Israeli looks set to come in and play that role.
