CELTIC has ‘raised’ their concerns after fans were kept behind for eighty minutes after the 1-1 draw to Shakhtar in Poland.

It was a shambles from the authorities; riot police were present and using some force on fans despite no trouble from the travelling supporters.

Fans were kept in the stadium for fifty minutes before being allowed to walk no more than 100 yards just to be stopped again, causing some fear amongst the Celtic support. Some were anxious that a potential crush could take place.

The club has informed fans that they are dealing with the matter, with Celtic FC SLO Tweeting that Celtic are not happy with how the fans were treated and had raised the matter at the time.

It was a good atmosphere from the Celtic fans, and being met by riot police in their gear was unnecessary.

Lessons should’ve been learned before the game, but it’s clear they weren’t. Hopefully Celtic can deal with this and ensure it doesn’t happen to the travelling support again.
