Motherwell chairman Alan Burrows has hit out at Premier Sports for scheduling the cup tie between Motherwell and Celtic at 6:15 pm on Wednesday night.
The broadcaster not only owns the rights to air the League Cup games but also sponsors the competition itself. They’ve decided to put the game on at a particular time which will make it difficult for fans attending the game to get to the stadium in time.
With most working days ending at 5 pm, fans who want to attend will either have to make a last-minute dash to the stadium or take a holiday in order to make the trip.
Burrows and Celtic’s concerns were rejected, and the game will go ahead as Premier Sports planned.
Both Motherwell FC & Celtic FC raised concerns around the kick-off time based on the difficulties it will present to supporters wishing to attend the match. We asked the broadcaster to consider having the two live matches, scheduled for that day, run simultaneously on different https://t.co/R0gZzLFcAx

Whoever wins the tie will move into the semi-final of the competition. It’s a cup competition that helped propel Ange Postecoglou and his Celtic side to even greater heights; after they beat Hibernian to lift the trophy last December.
Celtic fans always find a way, but it’s an obstacle put in supporters way that didn’t have to happen.
