Celtic’s pre-season schedule appears to be taking shape with another friendly against Sheffield Wednesday lined up.

As confirmed by the club this afternoon, the recently relegated English Championship side are also heading to Wales for a pre-season trip and will now face the Hoops on the 7th of July.

Yesterday Celtic announced their plans for this summer, with friendlies against the likes of Charlton and Bristol City lined up.

Now, to complete our set of fixtures Wednesday will be our first opponents of pre-season.

Of course, both clubs do have a recent working relationship with the recent deal to bring Liam Shaw to the club. So we could see an early return for the youngster after departing his boyhood club.

It will be a busy summer for the club, with the appointment of a new manager but also add in the massive squad rebuild and players returning from the Euros it feels like a mammoth task ahead.

Come July, it will certainly be interesting to see what sort of shape we are in, going into pre-season.
