Celtic’s Monday Night Rangers Troll

Celtic could hardly have asked for a better Sunday.

The Hoops did their own job in style first, hammering Kilmarnock 5-1 at Rugby Park with one of their strongest attacking displays of the season so far.

Kasper Høgh stole the headlines with a first-half hat-trick, while Benjamin Nygren and Luke McCowan were also on target as Celtic made it two wins from two in the Premiership.

Then came another result for the support to enjoy.

Rangers were beaten 2-1 by Hibernian at Ibrox, with Callum Wright scoring a dramatic late winner to leave Derek McInnes still searching for his first league victory.

That result means Celtic are already five points clear of Rangers after just two games.

And the club’s social media team did not miss the chance to have a little fun.

Sharing footage from the win over Kilmarnock, Celtic wrote on X: “Sundays done (W)right”

The capitalised “W” appeared to be a clear nod to Hibs hero Callum Wright, whose late strike completed a miserable afternoon for Rangers.

It was subtle, but there was no hiding what Celtic were getting at.

The timing made it even sweeter.

Celtic had produced a dominant performance away from home just over 24 hours earlier, scoring five goals and watching their new striker announce himself with a hat-trick.

Rangers, meanwhile, had dropped more points at Ibrox and already find themselves playing catch-up.

There is a long way to go in the title race, but Celtic have started the season exactly as they would have wanted.

Six points from six, goals flowing and their rivals already five points behind.

No wonder the social media team fancied a little dig.
