CELTIC have been fined for the banner displayed in the North Curve for the hoops’ match against RB Leipzig in October.

In the section where the green brigade is located, a banner that read “Against Hunger and the Crown” was displayed during the match.

UEFA has fined Celtic €17,500 for the “provocative message of an offensive nature”.  The hoops have had to pay fines worth over €50,000 during their Champions League group stage adventure, with the anti-monarchy banner being the latest penalty. [Daily Record]

It’s no surprise that UEFA has fined Celtic for this. The club were fined for another anti-monarchy banner displayed in the match in Poland against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The fan group have made several political statements over recent weeks, with the cost of living crisis worsening and more and more people falling into poverty. Supporting the RMT and the Enough is Enough campaign, the Green Brigade are raising awareness for the issues affecting our society.
