Celtic have been by governing body UEFA due to the banner on display in the Europa League tie against Ferencvaros.

As reported by STV, the club has been fined £12,500 over an anti-UEFA banner that was described as ‘provocative and offensive’.

The banner in question was in response to the Hoops fixture against European opponents Ferencvaros due to the kick-off time being at 3:30 PM on Tuesday the 19th of October.

This was due to the up-and-coming COP26 Conference at the time, as well as Champions League games being televised the same evening and the following night.

Of course, Celtic fans were still able to go the extra mile and provide a full house stadium in the 2-0 victory over the Hungarian Champions.

However, that does not take away from the fact that UEFA put money before supporters once again.

It isn’t anything new or surprising, considering how much of the governing bodies focus is on money rather than those who watch the game on a weekly basis.

  1. Any good the Green Brigade do is overwhelmingly obliterated by their stupidity and utter ignorance.
They are an unruly (dis)organization who’s main purpose is to be a disruptive, disrespectful group of thugs.
They are only using the club as a platform, and clearly are not real supporters of the club.
Groups like this are seen all over the world, normally during riots and protests.
They claim to be Celtic fans, yet game after game, year after year they embarrass our club and are the direct cause of the numerous fines and warnings we receive from the governing bodies of the game.
They have dragged our name into the gutter.
Clearly they won’t be satisfied until they manage to get our club banned or have the stadium closed for European competition.
It’s time their platform was removed, or they removed from the platform.
    Idiots!
