Kristoffer Ajer has been linked with a move away from Celtic this summer. Italian giants AC Milan are keen on the defender but Kris just one of a number of options at the moment.

Sky Sports man, Anthony Joseph, who has been following the story has given his latest insights into a potential deal and it’s a major boost for supporters who want to see Ajer stay at the club.

Apparently Milan are trying to be as cost effective as possible and don’t have the funds to land players this summer for big money. Instead, they want to to what a lot of clubs have done this summer and loan in a player with an obligation to buy for a set price next season.

Celtic would be looking for a large up front fee right now to let go of their defender. While we are happy to take staggered payments for players like we’ve done in the past with the likes of Kieran Tierney – it wouldn’t make sense this time around if it didn’t free up funds for Celtic to buy a replacement.

If Milan continue their pursuit of other players with clubs happy to loan their players at first then we could be in for a quieter end to the window and especially a less anxiety enduring deadline day.
