Celtic fans like to keep in touch with what their players are doing on international duty – even if it’s just to keep an eye on their fitness.

As the Celtic international contingent make their way across the globe to play for their respective countries, it’s worth noting we’ll be able to keep a closer eye on our three Japanese bhoys.

Instead of playing their games in Japan this month, the JFA has setup the team’s fixtures in Germany – where they will face the USA and Ecuador. The games set to take place in the Merkur Spiel Arena in Düsseldorf.

Soccer Football – Scottish Premiership – Celtic v Motherwell – Celtic Park, Glasgow, Scotland, Britain – May 14, 2022 Celtic’s Japanese players Yosuke Ideguchi, Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda celebrate winning the Scottish Premiership with the trophy

It’s a double boost for Celtic because there’s less travel for three of our top players AND the game times to watch Daizen, Kyogo and Reo turn out for their country will be a bit more convenient for supporters in Scotland to watch.

How can I watch Celtic’s Japanese Contingent?

Japan take on the USA at 13:25 on Friday 23 September.

Kyogo and co then play Ecuador on Tuesday 27 Sept with a 12:55 KO scheduled.

Kyogo is the biggest stick on to be in the Japanese World Cup squad and Daizen is more than likely to join him. Reo Hatate is still to cement his place in the Japan squad and will be using these games to show why he should be on the plane to Qatar.
