Celtic have reportedly rejected a bid for French striker Odsonne Edouard from English Premier League side Leicester City.

As reported by This is Futbol according to Ian McGarry speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, the Hoops rejected an offer of around £14 million for the 22-year old who has come under heavy interest.

It has all but been accepted by Celtic fans that Edouard will be moving on in the summer as he comes into the final year of his contract.

A few years ago many predicted that the club would receive upwards of £25 million if he could keep up his form but in the current climate and his contract situation that seems unlikely at this stage.

It is still important that we get a high enough fee for a player of Edouard’s quality, no matter how long he has on his current deal and £14 million isn’t near that valuation.

This money could be key going into the new season with the rebuild on the way whilst also trying our best to replace the goals that Edouard brings to the side.
