CELTIC have tonight released a statement revealing the club is satisfied with the SPFLs handling of the current crisis and that no wrongdoing took place during the proposal to end the lower leagues.
Celtic were part of the clubs who voted against an inquiry into events after receiving the Ibrox dossier last week.
Peter Lawwell was on the video call at today’s EGM and had the floor at one point to talk over what has gone on.
Celtic write tonight:
We are satisfied that there is no evidence of any wrongdoing by the board or executive and do not consider that such an inquiry is necessary.
We now appeal to all clubs to look to the future in the knowledge that the threats which exist to the fabric of Scottish football are grave and unprecedented. All of our energies should be applied to planning for the return of the game in season 2020-21 and to the financial survival of all our clubs.

Celtic have remained silent through this whole process and have only now decided to show their hand. The club wants to see the game returning and the clubs pull together to make that possible.
They have great sympathy for clubs relegated in the scenario which has unfolded but there was no ideal scenario.
We now await to see the next move by clubs who thought an independent inquiry should take place.
