Celtic’s late rally at Dens Park sealed a 3-3 draw, with Arne Engels calmly converting a penalty in the 90+3’ to secure a point for Brendan Rodgers’ men. The dramatic conclusion came after a series of tense moments.

The match had been a rollercoaster from the outset. Celtic started brightly, with Luke McCowan opening the scoring in the fifth minute, heading in a cross from Greg Taylor. However, Dundee quickly found their feet, with Oluwaseun Adewumi equalising in the 41st minute after a well-worked counter-attack. The first half ended 1-1, setting the stage for a competitive second-half.

Celtic’s Yang Hyun-jun restored the Hoops’ lead early in the second half with a header from a wonderful Kyogo Furuhashi cross, but the lead didn’t last long. An unfortunate own goal from Cameron Carter-Vickers saw the hosts level. Dundee’s Aaron Donnelly would then capitalise on a corner in the 78th minute to nod home to put the Dens 3-2 up

Despite the setback, Celtic continued to press, and in the dying seconds of the match, Dundee’s Mohamad Sylla was penalised for a handball in the box. Engels stepped up confidently, sending goalkeeper Trevor Carson the wrong way with a precise penalty to level the game.

In the end, it was a hard-fought point for Celtic after a competitive 90 minutes of action. The result, while disappointing for Celtic in terms of dropping two points, demonstrates the Hoops’ resilience.

As Celtic fans look ahead, it’s clear that the Bhoys’ attacking threat remains a constant, but defensive mistakes continue to cost them.

With the next match coming against Kilmarnock on Saturday in The Scottish Cup at Celtic Park, fans will be hoping for a more composed performance to bounce back from the hard-fought draw in Tayside.
