Scotland Under-21 side is set to take on turkey in a 5.30 pm kick-off on Tuesday afternoon, shortly before the senior team take on Austria later this evening.

Manager Billy Stark has named both Stephen Welsh and Adam Montgomery in his starting eleven with Dane Murray on the bench. Further to this, Stephen Welsh has been given the honour to wear the captain’s armband tonight.

The game is free to watch and will be shown on BBC Scotland as well as BBC Iplayer.

Welsh has risen through the academy and has spent time on loan at Greenock Morton. Due to injuries in Celtic’s defence, he was given game time and has now progressed to be a starting player for the club. Wearing the number 57, he has played 31 times in green and white and an additional 22 times at a youth level for Scotland.

Adam Montgomery broke into the first team at the tail end of last season but is now being utilised as a squad player on the left-hand side.

Dane Murray is still awaiting a breakthrough at Celtic, but the international experience will certainly boost the youngster’s chances.
