CELTIC are being proactive instead of reactive this year in the transfer market. Waiting for a player to leave then sounding out potential replacements is not the way to go.

Instead, Celtic are getting their ducks in a row should Kristoffer Ajer be subject to any bids before the transfer window, according to reports.

It’s no secret Ajer has been keen to make a move away from Celtic this summer and the club will certainly allow him to leave for the right price. It will take some decent money for the Norwegian to get his move but if this happens, Celtic will need to bring in another centre-back.

RecordSport claim Celtic have Preston’s Ben Davies under surveillance just in case. The 25-year-old earned a lot of rave reviews last season and has caught the eye of a number of clubs. The defender can also play left-back if need be. His contract expires at the end of the season, and Celtic might think they can do a deal under those circumstances.
