REPORTS claim Celtic have been scouting a potential left-back replacement for Kieran Tierney with former bhoy and current Celtic scout Tosh McKinlay watching Greg Taylor this weekend as Kilmarnock fell to a 2-0 defeat.

According to SunSport, the player has been watched by Celtic with McKinlay writing up a report about the defender for Neil Lennon and the rest of the backroom team.

Taylor has played in over 100 SPFL games and made his Scotland debut at only 21.

The defender knows the league very well and was part of the Steve Clarke revolution at Kilmarnock which seen the club defy their critics for two seasons.

Celtic fans want to see cash splashed but bringing in Taylor for a relatively modest fee could be a great bit of business for the Scottish Champions.

Once upon a time, people were turning their nose up at Andy Robertson when he played for Dundee Utd. No, we’re not comparing the two, we are simply saying we must remember there’s value to be had in our own league. We shout at other leagues for trying to belittle our players so to do the same would be hypocritical.

Taylor could be a great signing if Tosh has recommended the star.
