CELTIC are keeping their eye on Lewis Morgan after head of recruitment Lee Congerton sent his scouts to compile a dossier on the midfielder.

The St Mirren star who is also attracting attention from down south is out of contract at the end of the season and Celtic could look to tie Lewis up on a pre-contract in January.

Celtic are casting their net far and wide in their pursuit of building Brendan Rodgers blueprint but certainly aren’t turning up their nose at players closer to home if they display the necessary attributes.

Lewis is a standout in the St Mirren side and scored 14 goals in 28 games for The Buddies last season which earned him a call-up to the Scotland Under 21s. He spent his youth days at Rangers before signing a professional contract with the Paisley club back in 2013.

This deal is unlikely to excite the hard to impress fans in the Celtic support. Especially when Celtic have a plethora of midfielders at present.
