CELTIC FANS now know the club will have the opportunity to defend their Scottish cup trophy for the fifth consecutive season with the resumption of the lower leagues.
While the SPFL and the lower leagues club thrash out a plan going forward, the SFA have already confirmed the dates for the rest of the Scottish Cup calendar.
- Second Round: Tuesday, 23 March
- Third Round: Saturday, 3 April
- Fourth Round: Saturday, 17 April
- Fifth Round: Saturday, 24 April
- Semi-Finals: 8 & 9 May
- Final: Saturday, 22 May
Celtic come into things in the third round but they need to wait until March 23 to find out who they will face. The defending champions have been drawn against the winners of Falkirk vs Arbroath.
One Celtic fan took the initiative to ask Celtic supporter liaison officer if the club would be using this Scottish Cup fixture to bring some added value to the support this season.
Premier Sports have the rights to the Cup, however, Celtic cut a deal with the TV channel for their League Cup tie with Ross County. It meant Hoops fans could watch the club get knocked out of the competition via the Celtic pass.
It’s a pertinent question because Premier Sports is around £10pm for subscribers. Fans could conceivably save themselves some money.
John Paul Taylor confirmed there would have to be a negotiation between the club and Premier Sports to air the game on the pass once again, so don’t go cancelling subscriptions.
We can't include automatically Craig as Premier own the rights so there would have to be a negotiation to see if anything could be done

In any case, if Celtic do get further in the competition, it’s likely fans will need the TV channel to watch the action past the third round.
