Celtic have moved quickly after Friday’s season ticket renewal deadline passed, sending a message to supporters who have not yet committed for the 2026/27 campaign.

The original deadline for fans to renew their season tickets was 5pm on Friday, with the club now contacting those who have not renewed and offering a short extension.

In an email sent to supporters, Celtic wrote: “We’re sorry to see that you haven’t yet renewed your Season Ticket for 2026/27.

“In case this has been an oversight, we have kept your renewal offer open until 9am on Monday, June 1. After that time, your seat will no longer be available.

“The Bhoys will be returning to Celtic Park next season as Champions of Scotland again, ready to take on the new campaign and fight for more trophies. We’re looking forward to welcoming you back after the summer, when a new season will be on your mind.

“Don’t miss out on all the thrilling moments to come in 2026/27, secure your seat now.”

The wording is notable given the wider backdrop around renewals this year.

The Celtic Fan Collective had urged supporters who were renewing to wait until the final day before doing so, in an attempt to make clear the level of dissatisfaction with how the club has been run.

That campaign came after a season in which Celtic still somehow managed to finish with a league and cup double, despite months of frustration, self-inflicted problems and anger from large sections of the support.

Martin O’Neill, Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham deserve huge credit for dragging the campaign over the line after stepping in and delivering silverware when the season looked like it could unravel completely.

But that should not be allowed to wash away the bigger issues.

Supporters have been vocal about the slow and ponderous decision-making at the club, the lack of urgency in key football operations, and what many see as a board that has remained locked in step with Dermot Desmond and his family rather than properly listening to the fanbase.

Desmond may be the 35 percent shareholder, but the level of influence he carries at Celtic has long been a source of debate among supporters. This season only intensified that feeling.

The club’s email gives fans until 9am on Monday, June 1, to act before their seat is made unavailable.

On the surface, it is a standard reminder in case anyone simply forgot or missed the deadline.

But given the organised renewal delay campaign, it also leaves Celtic some wiggle room after a deadline day that was about more than just administration.

For many supporters, renewing was never about walking away from Celtic. It was about making a point.

The team will return to Celtic Park next season as champions, but the relationship between the boardroom and the stands remains strained.

A double has been delivered. The concerns have not disappeared.

  1. They are just interested in our money for their own bonuses. why is it thre rangers season tickets start on Monday along with other clubs?
There is no valid reason why we should pay earlier for out season tickets

    • Actually Rangers & Aberdeen are 2 clubs who’s renewal date expired back in February.

I know also that Dundee United & Ross County renewals ended weeks ago too.

Whatever the failings of our board (and there are many) we get a much later renewal date than other clubs.

  2. if you want to see change keep your money in the bank dont be fooled by all this bullshit who we are going to buy. If they are going to appoint a new manager/ coach he should be the one deciding who he wants in his team and will integrate how he wants them to play all other talk about players being bought is total bullshit don t be fooled again by these chances running celtic .
