Celtic See Second Tounekti Bid Rejected

Celtic have seen their latest bid for Sebastian Tounekti rejected, as negotiations with Hammarby continue to stall over the winger’s valuation. [FD]

The Scottish champions tabled a second offer worth £3.9 million for the Tunisia international, but the Swedish club swiftly turned it down, holding firm on their £6.25 million asking price.

Celtic are eager to add further quality to their wide options following the arrival of Michel-Ange Balikwisha, and Tounekti remains high on Brendan Rodgers’ wishlist as the transfer window enters its final stretch.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a standout season in Sweden and has attracted interest from clubs across Europe, with Hammarby reluctant to part with one of their key assets unless their valuation is met in full.

Celtic’s pursuit of a new winger comes amid the potential exit of Hyunjun Yang, with Birmingham City offering around £1.5m for the South Korean. While no agreement has been reached yet, Rodgers is understood to be open to letting Yang depart if reinforcements are secured.
