Celtic have reportedly sent scouts to the recent Hammarby vs Malmo game to check in on top left-back target Mohanad Jeahze.

Swedish publication Expressen has reported the bhoys were out running the rule over the potential summer signing. Mohanad played almost 70 minutes of the 0-0 tie before being substituted.

The Iraq international is catching the attention of many clubs but Celtic were credited with an interest in the player last week [Scottish Sun] and it appears to have escalated since then.

Ange Postecoglou is looking to upgrade his left back options. Greg Taylor is currently the number one in that position but the drop off from there is Liam Scaled and Adam Montgomery. Greg Taylor needs top competition, especially if we’re going into the Champions League next term.

Celtic have managed to grab some real bargains over the past 12 months and Mohanad could be the next player we snap up that comes under that category.

Assuming Celtic go onto win the league, the bhoys will have the luxury of a full pre-season without the stress of qualifiers and the time it eats up so early in the campaign.

All our energy should be going into scouting and bringing in the bets players to suit Ange’s system. Mark Lawwell is now the man tasked with delivering on that front.
