Celtic could reportedly be set for a transfer battle for another ex target – Alberth Elis.

As reported by Hampshire Live, according to reports in Portugal from A Bola, where the frontman currently plays with Boavista, the Hoops could be set to battle the likes of Southampton and West Ham for the Honduran.

Similarly to the recent links to a move for former centre-back Erik Sviachenko, this isn’t the first time Elis has been linked with a move to Glasgow.

Back in 2019, former left-back Emilio Izaguirre and countryman of Elis admitted that the 25-year old was interested in making a move to Celtic.

With Southampton also being interested in Elis, this could reportedly have a knock-on effect on the future of ex loanee Mohamed Elyounoussi, who Celtic are also continuing to monitor what will happen with his future at the EPL side.

The Portuguese side is supposedly looking for an offer in the region of around £8 million. So, you would imagine this might be a deal that Celtic is slightly priced out of, with other sides offering a better deal.
