It is expected that English Premier League side Everton will be the final team in Celtic’s group for the upcoming Sydney Super Cup [FTBL].

A-League duo Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers have already been confirmed to take on the Hoops in the mid-season tournament.

The tournament caused a huge wave of controversy only a matter of months ago as it was expected that both Glasgow clubs would face each other in Ange’s ‘homecoming’ tournament but last season’s league runners up withdrew after fan pressure.

It looks like Everton have saved the day with the Toffees set to head Down Under for the third time in their clubs history.

Frank Lampard’s side narrowly avoided relegation last season and he will be hoping to get off to a good start early on in the campaign.

The tournament will providing Celtic supporters who live in Australia and are based in that part of the world the opportunity to see their heroes in the flesh.

Big crowds are expected to turn out to welcome Ange Postecoglou back to his homeland as the tournament will give Australian football fans their football fix.

It’s going to be strange watching a tournament halfway through the season but it will give Ange and the players more time on the training pitch with only a number of players heading off to the World Cup in Qatar.
