CELTIC could be ready to challenge UEFA after the disciplinary committee banned Jozo Simunovic for a further match for seeing red against Alashkert according to the Herald.

The club are unsure as to why the player was dealt this extra ban and are not privy to the full explanation at this point.

Once the club review UEFAS reasoning they will decide whether to appeal Jozo’s new ban.

If the club do register an appeal then it will likely mean Jozo would be free to play in the second leg of the Rosenborg tie.

It seeems very harsh by the disciplinary committee and Celtic officials feel the initial punishment was enough.

  1. Of course they should appeal.
It was a clumsy tackle not a malicious one.
    1 match ban was plenty.
Yellow card would have been a more honest decision.

  2. Uefa don’t look kindly at other F.a’s or teams butting in on their patch. They make the rules in asumption that other F.a branches will concur. Jozo’s studs were showing, he aimed it at the player, but never made contact. Such high tackles are banned (Unless your a goalie like Stefan Klos or Shumaker) Celtic can still object to both the ref or the Uefa.disiplinary panel.. But the decision will stand. Not as if Celtic haven’t been on the other side of Uefa decisions ever.
