CELTIC have arranged a Friendly with Hibernian during the international week to give the reserves and some first team fringe players a run out during their downtime.

There are many Hoops players away with their country but you have a lot still back at Lennoxtown who will want to keep or get sharp while the club season is paused.

It’s a great chance for Neil Lennon to see some of his fringe players in action.

It was John Kennedy who brought the game to everyone’s attention in this week’s Celtic View:

“There are a lot of players away but the Reserves have a friendly against Hibs.

“Some of the younger guys will play in that and the guys who’ve been playing recently had two days off after the Motherwell game and have been working hard throughout the rest of the week.

“Again, the players are all asking to come in and work on their time off which is exactly what we want to see.

“This period gives some of them time to work on their own individual games. It’ll also give them the chance to get any knocks or niggles out of the way and then go again for the next period.”

It’s great to hear the bhoys are using their initiative and coming in on their precious days off to put in more work. You can only hope that sort of dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.

Lennoxtown is a great place and has everything a player could need.

Hopefully, game time against Hibernian will benefit them all and nobody comes out injured.

The first team take on Hibernian a week on Saturday in what is another massive game for the Hoops.
