SPFL clubs are set to throw out a motion this week which would see them forfeit games due to Call offs due to the virus.

Neil Doncaster and the SPFL board want provisions in place if fixtures cannot be fulfilled but they’re not getting any encouragement from the majority of clubs.

Celtic have not indicated which way they’ll vote but RecordSport insists the motion doesn’t have enough votes to pass.

We’ve already had some of our games postponed because of a breach, Aberdeen and St Mirren too. If this was voted through, it could make all the difference between winning titles and being relegated.

There has been no provisions made for a situation like this and was not foreseen when the SPFL handbook was created. We saw the in-fighting last season when the season had to be curtailed. It’ll likely be the same again if we can’t reasonably finish the season.
