It is being reported that Celtic are set to visit South Korea during pre season this summer as the club continue to grow their brand around the world [Football Scotland].

Celtic are rumoured to also be heading to Japan this summer which will come in conjunction with the trip to South Korea.

They have been invited to participate in a tournament in July along with some of Europe’s top sides including Bayern Munich, PSG and Manchester City which will likely bring in a decent amount of revenue for the club.

Ange Postecoglou returned home during the World Cup break in November as he took his Celtic team to Australia to face Sydney FC and Everton as the club looked to thank fans down under for their continued support and grow the brand of the club.

In years gone by, the Hoops have had strong links to Japan and South Korea due to players such as Shunsuke Nakamura and Ki Sung-yueng but never continued to pursue the market.

There are a number of top Japanese stars within the ranks at Celtic just now and this sort of trip would only bolster the profile of the club.

It makes sense to also head to South Korea after the addition of striker Oh Hyeon-gyu in the January window.
