Reports in France from a well placed Lyon account claims Celtic have reached an agreement to take part in a tournament hosted by Lyon this summer.
If true, the bhoys will head to France to take on their former talisman, Moussa Dembele!
Once Celtic’s record sale, Dembele has spent two seasons at Lyon with speculation surrounding his future. If the tournament goes ahead, there’s a big chance the striker will line up against his former club for the one off tie.
These games will be predominantly about getting up to a decent level of fitness. You have to remember Celtic players haven’t played a game since March.
FYI Rennes refused to participate at the friendly tournament of Lyon this month.
OL is still searching for a 4th team to join after Nice and Celtic accepted the invitation. https://t.co/a9gCWqWnDf— Tiago Jacekniak (@youngjouster) June 25, 2020
“For you information, FYI, Rennes refused to participate in the “Tournoi de Lyon”.
OL are still looking for a fourth team after having reached the Nice and Celtic agreements.”
The players have not been able to take part in full contact training as of yet. The sessions at Lennoxtown, spaced out and staggered throughout the day.
We have contacted Celtic in search of confirmation about the friendly tournament.
It would provide the bhoys with a great opportunity to get match sharp.
It would be a good test for the Bhoys, playing some quality opposition, would be just the thing for them ahead of the season kick-off and euro games, and maybe see some prospective new talent
