REO HATATE could move to Celtic earlier than expected with Celtic looking at the possibility to pay for the Japan Under-23 international despite being able to get for free in January.

This would allow Hatate to join up with his new teammates early and allow for him to prepare for a possible Glasgow Derby debut. [The Athletic]

The move will see the Kawasaki Frontale’s player follow the same route as Kyogo Furuhashi, Japan to Scotland. Ange has knowledge of the player and will be keen to add him to his squad, bulking up the middle of the back, with the option to play the player on the left.

The versatility of the player could be useful to Ange and his staff.

With a title race looming, Celtic will look to replace any injured players with players of the same quality.

It is key to note, however, that the player would not be able to register for the club until January 1st, so even if he is brought over soon fans will have to wait to see their new man from Japan in action.
