According to reports, Celtic will look to cut their losses with summer signing Osaze Urhoghide at the end of the season.

The player was brought in on a free from Sheffield Wednesday around the time Ange Postecoglou was appointed as manager.

Osaze has played just once for Celtic during the Hoops’ final Europa League game of the season against Real Betis. Ange hasn’t fancied the defender at all and in January Osaze was sent out on loan to Oostende.

Many thought this was so the defender could gain some first team experience before returning to the club in the summer but it quickly became evident Celtic and Ange had other ideas. The Belgian club reported an option to buy clause, signalling Celtic were happy to let the player go if Oostende like what they see.

Football Insider is now claiming if Oostende don’t take up the option to buy Osaze, the bhoys will look for another move for the former Sheffield Wednesday player.

CeltsAreHere heard from a reliable source earlier this season coaches weren’t impressed with what Urhoghide was bringing in training and he quickly fell down the pecking order when Ange ran the rule over his team.

Osaze was clearly a player signed by scouts and presented to Ange. We have to remember the state Celtic were in at the beginning of the season when they really just needed bodies in the door to fill out a team. Urhoghide didn’t see any game time then and he will unlikely change minds in the coming weeks in Belgium.

The defender has made 5 appearances for Oostende at the moment.
