It might be a strange time of the year to be announcing pre-season friendlies with still so much football to play. Nevertheless, Celtic now know two teams they will play pre-season as they prepare for another demanding season that will kick off mid-July.
The Hoops have just agreed to play the oldest club in continental Europe to celebrate Swiss team St Gallen’s 140th anniversary.
Last week it was confirmed that Austrian team, SC Pinkafield will meet the Hoops on the 26th of June. Swiss side St Gallen and Celtic will meet on the 2nd of July at the Kybunpark stadium. The Switzerland team formed in 1879 are also in the running for European football next season so this could be a good workout for both teams.
Austria has been a good destination for the Celts in their last two preseasons. Celtic fans will be hoping it can help achieve a Champions League place next season.
