Celtic might not be landing the defender but according to reports over the past week, if Hearts sell Aaron Hickey in this transfer window – the bhoys have a 30% sell-on clause on the youngster.

Hickey has been courted by a couple of clubs on the continent but it now looks like his move to Bologna is going to go through. The player has been promised big first-team opportunities and credit to him, he doesn’t want to go to a club who will leave him languishing in the reserves.

It’s why Aaron left Celtic again to pursue first-team football at Tynecastle, it has proved the correct decision for the player in the end as he could now earn series money playing in Italy.

For Celtic, they may have wanted him at one point but they will receive a decent chunk of his transfer fee which SunSport reports as £1.5m. It would work out at just under half a million for the club’s coffers, which should not be sniffed at.
