Celtic have been linked with a January move for Irish attacking midfielder Danny Mandroiu.

The Shamrock Rovers player is about to enter the final year of his deal and has been drawing major attention to himself with his performances. Danny impressed so much, he was called up to Stephen Kenny’s Irish squad setup earlier this year.

As midfielders go, Mandroiu is certainly a very attacking player, scoring 15 goals and assisting in 6 since the start of the season.

Celtic have already gone to Shamrock rovers at the start of the season to sign Liam Scales and they’ve obviously been keeping tabs on Danny while looking at Liam.

The 23-year-old could be one of Celtic’s first winter signings according to SunSport.

Celtic need reinforcements in this January window to continue the good work and go into phase two of Ange’s rebuild. If the Hoops can grab a bargain in the Irish league, it will be a no brainier, however, as we’ve seen with Liam Scales, the transition can take quite some time.

  1. Another project. OK plan for the future but the numbers of players of this ilk who arrive at Celtic Park only to be loaned out and who end up leaving without getting a chance is phenomenal. Is Afolabi still on Celtics books, what about Connell? And Shaw and the other big fella from Sheff Wed, Urohide?. That is off the top of my head. The sheer volume is frightening. Some young players must be wary of signing. Also we have allowed our own Academy prospects to leave while signing these guys. Recruitment needs to be tightened up at CP.
