Celtic have reportedly failed in two bids for Charlton left sided player Alfie Doughty, the Englishman has entered the final year of his contract and the Scottish Champions have been keen on bringing him to the club.

SunSport are now reporting Celtic are set to go in with another bid for Alfie to try and tempt the English side to part with their player now.

Right now, it appears Charlton are playing hard ball and the reported £800k bid is unlikely to be enough for Lee Bowyer and the club.

They are determined to keep a hold of Alfie and believe they can convince him to sign a new long term deal before January.

For Celtic, they could wait until January but there’s a great need for a player to fit into Neil Lennon’s 3-5-2 system this window.

Only time will tell, but Celtic can be relentless if they want a player badly. It’s up to what Alfie is thinking.
