CELTIC have been linked with Hibernian star Martin Boyle over the past number of days. However, the Australian has been offered an eye-watering wage from an unnamed club, reports The Sun.

Martin Boyle, who turns 29 in a matter of months, has been offered £20,000 a week, more than £1 million a year. Hibs maintain the asking price of £3 million for the winger’s services after he put pen-to-paper on a new contract last August.

However, Boyle is keen to explore new opportunities and he may be tempted away from the club.

If the deal was already unlikely to happen, it’s certainly even more unlikely now.

The asking price is a bit too steep from the Easter Road club and it would be extremely surprising to see Celtic fork out that amount of money, especially with the completion of four deals already this window.

Not to mention that the Hoops are looking to make the loans of Jota and Carter-Vickers permanent.

  1. Disappointing. Boyle would be a great addition. Now we are looking at the over rated Mc Gree. If we are going for an Australian Mooey is the man and he is married to a Scot. So would likely be keen on the move. The only problem is he would have to take a major pay cut as we could never match the wages he gets in China.
