Celtic have not been able to call on their French defender since the final game of 2020 when Christopher Jullien collided with the post – ending his season on the spot.

The Frenchman had not long come back from an injury, briefly making a comeback during last season to play in the quadruple treble final before disaster struck against Dundee Utd.

So much has changed since Jullien last played for the club. A new manager, a brand new squad with very few players Christopher has played with competitively.

Jullien has been out since December and the injury was forecast to be around nine months so when can we expect the player back?

In June, the big defender mentioned he was halfway through his rehab.

“I am probably on a marathon. The injury is probably nine months and I’m about halfway. I just can’t wait to be back.” Chris told RecordSport.

Having spoken to sources close to the club, they expect the Frenchman to be back in October. Given Starfelt, Welsh and Carter-Vickers are in the squad, Ange shouldn’t need to rush Jullien back, but there’s every chance the defender is back within the next six weeks, barring any setbacks.

It’s an old cliche, but having Chris back will feel like a new signing.

  1. He is a big lad when he gets back we will find out if he is a fit for this new look Ange team,i hope he fits right in and we then can play with 3 defenders in front of Joe and defend much better than we have shown in the some games..
