Celtic were asked to comment after their city centre store came under attack on Sunday night from mindless yobs.

The attack on the shop took place as rival fans flouted lockdown rules and turned Glasgow into a sorry scene.

The shop, which has been sitting idle with the rest of the retail shops in Glasgow was subject to special treatment and it would be easy to guess why.

A spokesperson for Celtic told SunSport: “This is disgusting, pathetic vandalism.

“The matter has been reported to Police Scotland and hopefully those responsible are identified.

“We are also in dialogue with police to ensure that our premises receive an ongoing adequate level of safety and security.”

It’s a sorry state of affairs and speaks to the mindset of the people who were in town on Sunday evening.

It appears, even when others win things, it’s still all about Celtic. It should be flattering but we’d rather they focused their energy elsewhere.

  1. Mibbie invest in outer security shutters?? An expected insurance claim beckons. Glad the hun legions don’t know what a flammible excelerant does through letterboxes. Celebrating mobs huh, they will be dancing on police van roofs soon.

  2. Every one of those sevco fans broke the law and their manager and other senior figures at the club encouraged them. The police are also guilty. Thousands of thugs and vandals congregated in Ibrox, the city centre, and Larkhall, and probably other locations yet the police only made 28 arrests and issued 7 fixed penalty notices. That demonstrates that they did very little to disperse these crowds. Some officers even joined in while they sang sectarian, bigoted songs, destroyed property and left the council with a massive clean up. They all broke the law many broke several laws but the police did next to nothing. Are white protestants above the law? What about the rest of society, the NHS and care workers, and the rest of Scottish football? Do we not matter? These mass spreading events will most probably result in unnecessary deaths. The SFA and the Scottish Government must punish those who can be identified on CCTV and social media. Including the guilty sevco manager and senior officials and the police who joined in and posed for selfies while the mob broke several laws. They should have been arrresting people and handing out fixed penalties until the mob got the message and went home.
