Celtic have reportedly slapped a £7million figure on the head of Oliver Ntcham going into the summer window according to Football Insider who claims a ‘source’ at the club told them this information.

An excerpt from the article reads: ‘Celtic are ready to cash in on Olivier Ntcham this summer for around £7million, Football Insider understands.

‘The Hoops hierarchy are aware the French midfielder, 23, is unsettled in Glasgow and is keen to move to a new club despite signing a new contract last November that has three more years to run.

‘A Celtic source has told Football Insider the club do not expect to get anywhere near the £14million that Porto were reportedly prepared to pay for Ntcham last summer and again in January.’

Something just doesn’t add up about this. Why would ANYONE of note at Celtic give any information away about a future fee for a top player?

What’s more is, Celtic sold Stuart Armstong for the same amount last summer even though he was entering the last year of his deal. The Frenchman has a contract at Celtic Park until 2022. The club would be in no rush to sell for a cut price this summer if club’s think they can low ball Peter Lawwell. Reports of a large bid last summer from Poro were confirmed shortly after by Brendan Rodgers with the fee believed to be around £14m as reported by Football Scotland.

The Football insider report also claims the player is ‘unsettled’ which may or may not be the case. It’s not been a good season for Olivier – he’s struggled for fitness and form but there’s no doubt when he brings his best game he is unplayable.

Should Celtic receive offers for the midfielder’s services this summer, you can expect the club to ask for top dollar.

  1. Of course it’s made up garbage . So why give a nonsensical , negative story airtime on a supposedly Celtic site?
A lot of what I read on this site is in the same vein.
