It was brilliant to return back to Celtic Park on Saturday but there was something missing about the dear old Paradise.

For the past seven years large banners which paid tribute to some of the clubs greatest ever players and events greeted fans as they arrived at the ground with ‘Paradise’ inscribed in block letters.

Players of the past through the years were given their rightful place which introduced a younger generation of supporters to some club legends as they were so clearly visible.

They were a welcoming new addition to the stadium and had become a really familiar part of the ground.

During the summer months, the large banners were taken down leaving the stadium looking rather bare.

However, it has been confirmed that Celtic Park will not be left looking so bare as Celtic FC SLO John Paul Taylor has confirmed via Twitter that there will be new ones going up.

This will begin speculation as to what sight will welcome the Celtic support likely on arrival to the league opener against Aberdeen.

A lot has happened at the club since 2015 with a world first Quadruple Treble being achieved in 2020.

The club may choose to celebrate the success of that or may take a different route with a focus on our current first team after their success last season under Ange Postecoglou.

The only issue with that is the banners could become dated rater quickly so they may err on the side of caution.

  1. Hopefully they will clean the stands and staircases, which look like they haven’t seen soap and water for a long time. Surfaces in the main stand need cleaned and re-painted.
