Speculation surrounding Odsonne Edouard is going to be inevitable. There will come a day when the French striker leaves the club in a big money move much like Moussa Dembele before him.

There’s one thing though Celtic appear to be adamant on with someone at the club speaking to The Record – he will not be sold in January.

The paper claims Celtic are bracing themselves for firm bids for the player but that they won’t be letting the frontman leave during the season.

‘Celtic are expecting firm interest in January but have told Edouard’s advisors they won’t consider a switch until the end of the season.’ RecordSport wrote.

Edouard has been on prolific form for his country at under 21 level – making waves back in France with clubs no doubt looking at bringing the player in if they can.

It’s absolutely vital Celtic put their foot down. With no viable option for a replacement at the moment it would be criminal to sell Eddy, even for big money.

There will be a time when Celtic star leaves and it could very well come next summer but that gives Celtic a considerable amount of time to find a replacement.

Right now, with Leigh Griffiths struggling for fitness and Bayo still very raw – Eddy is our main striker.
