CELTIC are in Aberdeen ahead of what has now become a pivotal tie for the bhoys after a poor run of results.

Ange Postecoglou has been measured in his criticism of the team thus far but Thursday night we saw some fire from the Hoops boss as he demanded a reaction after the 4-0 thumping at home to Bayer Leverkusen.

Celtic have only picked up one point from the last two games and have to get all three points this afternoon if they are to keep up with the rest of the league. Anything other than a win and we’re going to struggle majorly.

We have the provisional squad for the game below. Kyogo and Cal Mac are in there after making their return on Thursday – both a major boost for Celtic.

There could be a starting XI debut if Liam Scales gets the nod ahead of Adam Montgomery who’s struggled in the last two games. The youngster looks a talent but he’s a bit over exposed at the moment. Throwing Scales into a red hot Aberdeen game could be dangerous but the defender could rise to the occasion.

Giakoumakis is in the squad agains and will likely start from the bench.

Provisional Celtic squad:

  • Joe Hart
  • Vasilis Barkas
  • Scott Bain
  • Carl Starfelt
  • Liam Scales
  • Nir Bitton
  • Giorgos Giakoumakis
  • Kyogo Furuhashi
  • Albian Ajeti
  • Liel Abada
  • Ismaila Soro
  • David Turnbull
  • James McCarthy
  • Jota
  • Tom Rogic
  • Cameron Carter-Vickers
  • Boli Bolingoli
  • Osaze Urhoghide
  • Liam Shaw
  • Callum McGregor
  • Adam Montgomery
  • Anthony Ralston
  • Stephen Welsh

HERE’S HOW WE THINK THE MANAGER SHOULD SETUP:

The game today kicks off at 12pm and will be live on Sky Sports. There is a good away presence for the Hoops today and they’ll be hoping their long travel to Aberdeen will be worth it.
