Celtic fans were buzzing after Callum McGregor’s dramatic 95th-minute winner in Paisley, but it doesn’t seem like the same could be said for the BBC.
It looked like Celtic were destined to drop yet more points this season and face the prospect of falling further behind Hearts, but up stepped the captain to save the day.
On Sunday, it actually played out that Celtic would creep closer to Hearts, after Aberdeen’s first-half goal was enough to take all three points against the Jambos.
In the BBC’s live text coverage of the match, the final update after the full-time whistle read:
“And that is that.
“The late, late show from Celtic. Again.”
You could practically hear the sigh coming through the screen.
It’s not the first time Celtic have snatched points at the death this season, but the wording alone had supporters laughing at what sounded like genuine frustration from the national broadcaster.
When Celtic played St Mirren earlier this season, they actually, again, relied on a late goal.
Luke McCowan came up with the goods that day, the opening match of the season, in the 87th minute.
But this time, once again, captain Callum McGregor delivered when it mattered, smashing home from the edge of the box to send the away end wild and keep Celtic right on Hearts’ heels in the title race.
Late winners, late drama and apparently, late-night salt from the BBC. Celtic fans will love it.
Celtic need to keep on pushing and grinding out results, with reinforcements needing to arrive in January.
But, until then, Martin O’Neill and Wilfried Nancy – if he is appointed before the transfer window – will have to work with what they have.
And Stephen McGowan doesn’t think a new manager will be enough for the current group of players.
“I have my doubts. Do we think that a new manager can come in with this squad and make a real significant difference? Because I have to say, I’m not at all convinced by that.
“I think the squad is fundamentally imbalanced. I think it lacks quality. As you said, the players up front, it’s like a 1990s strikeforce, partly because of injuries, it has to be said, and bad luck.
“But my goodness, as Philippe Clement used to say, Harry Potter couldn’t come in here and wave a magic wand.
“So I think they just have to find a way to limp through to January and hope upon hope that actually the scouting team can get their act together and get some decent players in this time and get the deals done at the upper level.
