The future of the Celtic squad is up in the air. After winning three trebles on the bounce the squad needs to be freshened up for their next assault on the domestic and European fronts.

All eyes on who Neil Lennon will bring into the club this summer but it’s just as important who he decides to keep and who is for the chop.

One man who seems to be in limbo is Nir Bitton. The Israeli midfielder had been out for just under a year before making his return to the squad in February/March time. However, even though he has been fit since then the midfielder has not seen a lot of action.

This leads many to believe he could be a player that’s moved on to make space for new recruits.

Nir is entering the final year of his Celtic deal and to this point, there has been no discussions about keeping him in Glasgow.

Bitton has not thought of life away from Celtic and has made his position clear.

“I still have a contract at Celtic so I am staying. I haven’t spoken to any other clubs.” he told SunSport.

“As long as I am under contract and Celtic believes in me, I will stay.”

If there’s interest in the player this summer, Celtic could cash in on the midfielder and avoid losing him for nothing after next season.
