Leigh Griffiths let people know he’s set to join up with the club at Lennoxtown next week after having constructive talks with the new manager on the phone.

There’s still uncertainty surrounding the striker but there is at least a willingness from the nee manager to run the rule over Leigh before deciding if the striker is to get a new contract.

Leigh had an extension to his deal which hasn’t been triggered. There has been no manager in place to make the deal happen and considering the outlay – the club have waited until they had their manager in place.

While talking about his future, Leigh inadvertently told the Celtic support the timeline for Ange Postecoglou’s Lennoxtown arrival.

The manager HAS been in self isolation and is in the country.

Griffiths told Glasgow Live: “I spoke to the manager on Tuesday morning and things seemed positive. We’ll have another chat at the beginning of next week when he’s out of isolation and we’ll take it from there.

We had heard rumours of Ange being on the training ground next week and Leigh has confirmed that indeed is the case.

It means next week will be a massive moment in the context of our season. The manager will start asserting his plans on the training pitch and forge the path ahead.
